How To Type on PDF Online?
Easy-to-use PDF software
I am having issues of submitting my research paper in. My professor said the file types are doc, docx, and PDF. I tried all 3 and it won’t let me submit. Why is that? And how can I submit it in, if it says those file types are not accepted?
The primary difference between doc and docx is that .doc is the older version of Microsoft Word. DocX is the newer version of Microsoft Word 2007. Both versions are supported by the latest version of Microsoft Office Suite. The difference is X in the file extension stands for Office Open XML, which is the better version of Word. Along with PDF format, the most commonly used document formats are DOC and DOCX. Both of these are extensions in Microsoft Word documents, and t can be used to store images, tables, formatted text, charts, etc. For a long time, Microsoft Word has used DOC as its default file type. DOC has been used since the first release of Word for MS-DOS. Till 2006, when Microsoft opened DOC specifications, Word was a proprietary format. Over the years, updated DOC specifications were released for use in other document processors. DOC has now been included in many free and paid document processing programs like LibreOffice Writer, OpenOffice Writer, Kingsoft Writer, etc. You can use these programs to open DOC files and edit them. Google Docs also has an option to upload DOC files and perform necessary actions. Microsoft developed the DOCX format as a successor to DOC. In the Word 2007 update, the default extension of files was changed to DOCX. It was done due to rising competition from free and open-source formats like Open Office and ODF. In DOCX, the coding work for DOCX was done in XML, hence the X in DOCX. The new coding also allowed it to support advanced features. DOCX, which resulted from the standards presented under the name Office Open XML, brought improvements like smaller file sizes. This change also paved the way for formats like PPTX and XLSX.

In addition to these enhancements, DOCX also received a great deal of support from Microsoft. DOCX can be found as a new file type in Microsoft Office 2007 for Microsoft Vista, XP and Windows 7. This version of Office provides support for a variety of file formats. The biggest plus for DOCX files is that this file format has better compatibility with Microsoft Office software. DOCX has compatibility with the .doc, .xls, .ppt, .xlsx, .ODT (Office Viewer), and .PPTX (Microsoft Publisher) formats. DOCX has compatibility with Microsoft Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP. Word works in DOCX files, but it uses a modified word processor code. DOCX uses a modified Word processor code created by the Microsoft Office team to make the program compatible with these new file formats. Other Important Notes... When you open DOCX files, you get three different documents.
