Is it worth to buy an iPad 2018 in 2019 for emails, web browsing (both PDF and word format), word typing, documents editing, and social media?

Thank you for the Type Into Pdf . In my personal opinion, assuming you can afford it comfortably (through a combination of student discount, parental contributions and as an absolute worst case, a 0% finance through your service provider), I would say yes it is absolutely worth getting the new iPad Pro with the new keyboard, especially with 4G and a data plan. The new keyboard is a genuinely nice to use keyboard, and the floating screen mechanism is absolutely amazing to use too. For a student who will be typing essays and taking notes it is an ideal combination. That said, at this price point you are getting very close to a “proper” laptop or an older MacBook Air which in my opinion would make for a better laptop for sure without a doubt, but that is not what the question is asking. The iPad has the benefit of being a tablet, taking care of your entertainment needs, has an Apple Pencil which I personally love to use for annotation on PDFs, PowerPoints and handouts which in itself has value above and beyond a laptop. It will also be able to do basic laptop functions, with iPadOS getting better with every iteration in this regard. Additionally, the cellular element really makes for a fantastic device, being able to use the internet to search for course material and information, backing up your documents to iCloud, and being able to use other apps such as ToDoIst is definitely a boon. Personally, I use my tablet for note taking in meetings, as my handwriting is horrible and typing takes away from the connection with the people you are meeting with.

Type on PDF: All You Need to Know

The battery life is quite good and the fact that it has a larger screen helps too. Overall, the iPad is a solid choice for me. A word of caution of course, as there will be users that will not find it suitable. However, if you are someone like me who is looking to save money and make your education more productive, especially in university, then the iPad Pro might just be for you. I am also a customer who is currently taking a break from Microsoft Office as I will be entering university in August 2016, so this is certainly something I will be considering for the future as well.
